Published By is an Austrian studio selling innovative 3D bags and accessories inspired by technology, architecture and art.
We worked with the brand on the launch of its eCommerce website, building a headless storefront with a React front end, Shopify and Contentful.
01Headless Shopify storefront
We built a headless Shopify storefront with a React front end, which gave us full flexibility on the front end for subtle animations and interactions. The website uses Shopify's core eCommerce features (catalog, product variants and tags, metafields, promotions and checkout), with an optimized basket popup.
023D animation
We developed a custom 3D bag animation for the homepage with an interactive rotating Stone Bag, Published By signature bag. One of the main challenges was to deliver an animation that renders well and fast on mobile without hindering performance. In order to deliver this, our development team performed a series of performance optimizations, including asynchronous rendering, generating SVG previews, image optimizations and javascript optimizations for a fast and dynamic mobile experience.
